I would like to start off this post a little differently than the rest have been thus far. Instead of talking about my recent adventures, I’d just like to talk about something that’s been on my mind lately. Patriotism. Well, the lack of it actually. There was a time when Red, White & Blue were the classiest colors a citizen of the USA could wear. Soldiers were honored as men who were gallantly risking their lives for their country. Living in the land of the free was the highest point of pride.
Unfortunately, in today’s day and age, young people are ashamed to live in America. They seem to feel guilty that their homeland has the plethora of benefits, for which our ancestors worked tirelessly, which other countries lack. They’re ashamed of their indoor plumbing, electric air conditioning, daily showers, expensive cars, and online shopping. Since the young people of today never really had to work for what this country has earned, they feel ashamed of everything we have. However, one thing I wish they’d just understand is that while they may not directly deserve it, their ancestors deserve for their descendants to have it. Therefore, we must remember to never be ashamed or feel guilty for our homeland. “Indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
On the subject, I’d like to recommend the Camacho Liberty, Christian Eiroa’s salute to our “Land of the Free.” Another barber-pole striped delicacy, this 6”X56” slice of heaven is shaped in the style of the Corojo. With alternating strips of creamy natural and sensually dark maduro wrappers, the rich blend of exotic tastes comes together in perfect harmony. This cigar is truly an honorable tribute to an honorable country. God Bless America (and good cigars!).
